What is HairGlitz and how is it attached?
It’s a thin strand of Thai silk attached to one strand of hair on your head. There are NO beads, clips or glue utilized in my method. I utilize a special tool to knot the hair.
How long does HairGlitz last?
It last as long as the hair that it’s attached to stays in your head. We shed a hundred hairs a day on average. Hair can last a day a week sometimes even months, depending on the health of your hair and how much styling you do. Children did not typically maintain the strands as long as adults.
What is the investment for HairGlitz strands?
Investment varies depending on how many ties you select but most clients spend between $15- $50 per application.
How is HairGlitz different from Tinsel?
Tinsel is made of a thicker product that often melts with heat. Hair Glitz utilizes a product that is safe to be heated to over 450°.
What’s the minimum for a party ?
Party requirements vary based on distance. (My home base is in Tampa) Typically it’s a minimum of 8-10 individuals though.
Do you know anyone who does fairy hair in other areas/states?

I’m getting a haircut/dye next week, should I wait?
Not a necessity. Hair glitz is color safe and it’s just trimmed to the hair length when getting cut.
I want to pay cash at my appointment, do I still have to enter my credit card info to book an appointment?
Yes. Just as when booking a hair appointment, a card is required to secure your spot. There is a button at the bottom that states reserve without paying. It will not save your spot as a reserved time without completing the process. You will receive an email confirmation if completed properly.
What if an event is full?
No appointments will show as available if an event is full. I post schedules 45-60 days out. A reminder is sent 48 hours prior to each event for scheduled events. I recommend double checking a sold out event 36-48 hours prior to see if spots have opened up.
How do I care for my HairGlitz?
Treat it just as your normal hair. Wash, dry, color, heat, perm, keratin! If you utilize a lot of sprays, the color can dull a little after awhile, in which I recommend a clarifying shampoo or a touch up to refresh.
How do I book an appointment?
Press the "Book an Appointment" button in the menu above, it will bring you to my booking site. Select the amount of ties you would like, scroll down to the city you want (make sure to check location as some cities have more than one boutique) Hit select. The date(s) available will be in bold with the first one highlighted in turquoise each month, click date in bold that you would like to book and available time slots will come up. Press desired timeslot, select continue, enter name, phone number, and email, and check if you want a text reminder before the appointment. At the bottom, you can continue to pay or reserve without paying, but you must enter a credit or debit card either way to hold the spot, click confirm. You have the option to add it to your calendar, cancel and reschedule. As long as you entered a valid email address an email will also be sent to confirm. Reminders are sent 48 hours prior, allowing you to change and or cancel them if need be.
I wear my hair up/back all the time. Am I good candidate for Hair Glitz?
Our hair naturally lays differently when pulled back so you do not see as much fairy hair in the crown of the head but rather in the ponytail, clip, etc. If that’s acceptable, hair glitz is a still fun but a less obvious accessory in ponytails.
My salon/friend/coworker does this and it falls out right away. Why should I try you?
There are many methods of attaching Hair Glitz and while everyone’s shedding is different, 97% of my clients maintain at least several strands for 30 days or more. (Children excluded from this statistic) I utilize a specific method to help it last longer.
Yes. There is no metal in the strands I utilize. I have clients who have 20-30 ties in their hair with 0 side effects or problems from a MRI.
Will HairGlitz work in Short, curly, etc hair?
Yes! It is meant to conform to the hairs shape. It goes in straight but will mimic the wave or coil of hair after a few washes. Recommend twisting into curly locks to help it take shape.
What colors do you carry?
I currently carry over 50 colors to choose from.
Can I get a discount since I have short hair?
No. I work based on application process, not how long or short the hair is. Short hair is the most difficult to apply to and I need at least 2 inches to apply a tie.
Walk ups are handled as space available in between scheduled appointments. There is no guarantee, but I do try to accommodate them whenever possible. As walk ups can often wait an hour or two depending on traffic and venue, I highly recommend in booking an appointment in advance. Otherwise, you are welcome to shop and/or eat at the boutiques/venues that host me.
Can children get fairy hair?
Yes. Children under 7 typically do not maintain it as long but it’s fun for all ages.
No! It is attached to a single strand and is not painful.
Why is my fairy hair turning silver?
Fairy hair can turn silver over time because the strands that stay in your hair for extended periods can gradually lose their color and lighten. This is normal, and a sign that it's time to make an appointment for some new sparkle!
I have hair extensions. Can I get Hair glitz?
Can I get Hair glitz? Yes. Please let me know at time of appointment if you want the strands in just extensions, just your natural hair, or both.
What payments do you take?
Cash, credit/debit card, ApplePay, Zelle and Venmo are currently accepted.
I lost my HairGlitz loyalty card. Can I get credit for previous appointments?
Unfortunately I cannot give credit for lost cards. At your second appointment, I give the option to track via your phone number or the card. If you opt to keep a physical card, lost points will not be replaced.
I highlight / curl / straighten my hair- Is HairGlitz safe to use?
Yes! HairGlitz is safe to heat up to 450°, for either straightening or curling appliances.
How far in advance should I book ?
Many locations sell out so I typically recommend looking 20 to 30 days from when you’re looking to find an appointment near you. Parties are currently booking 2 months in advance.
What is your Cancellation policy?
A reminder email is sent out 48 hours in advance to allow you to cancel or reschedule an appointment. I kindly ask if you are unable to make it, to cancel online to allow others the chance for the slot. I realize “life happens “ occasionally and will work to accommodate -but repeat offenders will be charged for late cancellations.
How do I change/cancel my appointment?
There is also a reminder sent out 48 hours prior that lets you do a change/cancellation. You can also go to the initial confirmation email from HairGlitz and click on the cancel button at the bottom.
How does a housecall work?
Housecalls are on a limited basis on days I’m already scheduled in a city. They are good for early mornings, evenings or house bound guests. There is a minimum charge for this service and they typically book 4-6 weeks in advance. Unless otherwise stated in writing, there is a $35 travel fee in addition to your strand package for house calls.
